Walters Homes-ReBUILD introduces new house design called The Ketch

ORTLEY BEACH, NJ — The Ketch, the newest house plan offered by Walters Homes-ReBUILD, was designed with the desires of Jersey Shore homeowners in mind. “Through customer feedback, certain needs from the public became obvious,” said Matthew Gaudet-Walters. “From a design standpoint, it’s a traditional two-story home with a spacious interior but on a compact scale.”

The Ketch I, II and III plans are variations of a single-family home offering modern open floor plans with three bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths with living space ranging from 1,308 to 1,687 s/f. This coastal-inspired home boasts a spacious interior with a U-shaped kitchen on the first floor connected to a living and dining room area. A room next to the kitchen could serve as a bedroom or a home office. Upstairs is a master suite and a third bedroom along with a full bath, laundry space, a nook, plus an optional deck. Pricing on the Ketch I starts at $171,032.

To create a seamless transition between indoors and out, all versions of the Ketch offer front and rear living spaces to accommodate a homeowner’s lifestyle. Gaudet-Walters explains that, “If there’s a lagoon in the back, for example, residents may prefer to spend most of their time in the rear of the house, making this dual living design ideal.”

Constructing safer, smarter homes in a post-Sandy environment also requires technical considerations. ReBUILD is focused on reconstructing homes that exceed FEMA’s guidelines for building in designated flood zones. As the custom home division of Walters Homes, the firm is committed to helping people understand what they need to do to reduce the risk of future wind and flood damage. To make the rebuilding process as seamless as possible for homeowners, ReBUILD bundles services to include assistance with permitting, financing, insurance claims and more.

ReBUILD offers over 50 floor plans with layouts ranging in size from 500 s/f to more than 2,400 s/f. Every home is specially crafted to fit on a homeowners lot,and if a customer does not find any standard plans that meet their requirements, they can meet with ReBUILD’s architect to design their own unique custom home.

Energy efficiency and sustainable living are key components that differentiate ReBUILD from the competition. ENERGY STAR certification ensures that homes are designed and built to standards well above most other homes, offering energy efficiency savings of at least 30% (Most homes are 40% more efficient) compared to a typical new home. In addition, homes are inspected to meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s strict standards for energy efficiency. Walters ENERGY STAR homes are packed with energy-saving features such as improved insulation, tighter construction, advanced window design, proper ventilation, high-efficiency heating and cooling, advanced lighting, programmable thermostats and tankless hot water heaters.
