Thor Equities acquires first property in hoboken, a 6,000 s/f landmark bank building

HOBOKEN, NJ — Thor Equities, a global leader in urban real estate development, leasing and management, has closed on the acquisition of 1400 Washington St. in uptown Hoboken, company executives announced.

The 6,000 s/f, two level landmark bank building features over 115 feet of wraparound frontage on 14th St. and Washington St. The former home of the Hudson Reporter newspaper offices will be renovated and repositioned into a prime retail asset.

“Uptown Hoboken is continuing to evolve into a premier residential and retail destination, and 1400 Washington St. is in the epicenter of this transformation,” said Melissa Gliatta, COO of Thor Equities.

1400 Washington St. is less than a five-minute walk from over 1,000 high-end residences at Hudson Tea, 1450 Washington St., 1500 Garden St. and Park + Garden, with 900 Monroe St., Harborside Lofts and Maxwell Place also located nearby.

Recent additions to the area’s retail scene include Athleta, Gap and Anthropologie. On the restaurant front, Del Frisco’s Grille on River Street recently joined Hoboken mainstays Madison Bar & Grill and City Bistro.
