AKF PA Group’s high performance building lab, In Posse, is active in the Philadelphia community, partnering with the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education (SCEE). In Posse works with SCEE on various volunteer opportunities, including SCEE’s forest stewardship efforts. In Posse also partners with Philadelphia’s Community Partnership School (CPS) to provide an engineering introduction to students. The student body at CPS is largely comprised of children from traditionally underserved parts of North Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Through an equal and open partnership between school personnel and families, CPS empowers and supports hardworking and motivated students and better positions them to achieve their dreams. Each year, In Posse provides classroom lessons to students and then holds an engineering fair where the students get an opportunity to learn about science and engineering hands-on. The Goldenberg Group maintains a reputation for strong community partnerships and views each development project as an opportunity to expand its positive impact on Philadelphia neighborhoods. Through this development, The Goldenberg Group continues to collaborate with various community organizations including Bridge of Hope CDC, Dunbar Promise Academy, Penrose Playground, The Blackhawks Athletic League, and Tree House Books. Since 2014, through the company’s monthly volunteer program, the developer has completed more than 20 service projects in the immediate neighborhood, including distributing books to local youth, renovating the school’s gym, teachers’ lounge and classrooms, and providing Thanksgiving meals for families in need.
Through the IMC Charitable Foundation, our mission statement is to provide charitable giving to help and empower nonprofit organizations in our community. IMC employees are active members within the community where we live and work. This is not mandated but comes from the heart of our employees and their personal interests and is ingrained in our company culture. IMC connects with communities through outreach, education, sponsorship and fundraising efforts locally near many of our construction projects. Sax offers team members a paid time off day to use for volunteering for charity, and facilitates a number of volunteer events and donation drives annually to make it easy for team members to give back to local organizations including Paterson Habitat for Humanity, Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children, The Community FoodBank of NJ, American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, United Way of Passaic County and the New Jersey Community Development Corporation.a Since 2012, Sax has held their annual run/walk event called the 4 Miler at Garret Mountain which raises money for the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ. In 2017, the firm raised $67,000 which brought the total raised since the event’s inception to over $370,000 that directly benefits the hospital’s pediatric patients undergoing treatment.
At SERVPRO, we strive to be more than your preferred restoration company; we want to serve as a community partner. We want to be the ones you think of when you need volunteers or need cases of water. We give back to our community through memberships of various chambers in our community, and are committee members within those chambers. In addition, we keep up with our local boroughs and get involved as much as possible with every event going on in area such as Community Days & Festivals. We firmly support our First Responders, and do whatever we can to give back to them, and show them how much we support and appreciate them through hosting events such as Hydrating Heroes. Once a year, we host an entire event dedicated to First Responders, and get pallets on pallets of cases of water to donate to our fire departments, police departments, and EMS. Our support of First Responders doesn’t end there. We support/attend as many events supporting them as much as possible such as fire department breakfasts, drop off coffee and breakfast to police departments on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, sponsor fireman festivals, attend fire house bingo nights, and more!!! Our volunteer work ranges from United Way of Bucks County to Habitat of Humanity to as much as we can do!
At Torcon, from the top down, all our employees take great pride in giving back to the communities where we work and live. Through our heavy involvement in the resurgence of the city of Camden, NJ, we have had the opportunity to work with incredible non-profits and people who have a direct hand in improving the quality of life for residents. With our team regularly working at a variety of sites in Camden, we were introduced to a man named Ray Jones, a graduate of Camden High and 30 year retired police captain. A few years ago, he and a few of his classmates gathered at a reunion and had the idea of starting a nonprofit called CHS 1979 & Associates with a mission to help their Camden community. In just three years, the small organization has grown to support education, quality of life and senior citizen causes throughout Camden, while also delivering thousands of Christmas presents to children throughout city. Inspired by Ray, Torcon united nearly a 20 of our subcontractors to support his charity’s annual toy drive, pledging to make it the largest to date. Our team donated more than 200 toys to the drive, and rallied our subcontractors to participate by contributing cash and presents at each jobsite. After collecting both toys and funds to support the drive, Torcon kicked off the campaign with a surprise visit from Santa for the children at a local daycare. As our volunteers helped deliver the toys and join in the holiday cheer with the children.

Withum’s culture is nurtured through the Withum Way and its corporate social responsibility initiatives: Withum Week of Caring and Staff Hardship Relief Fund. Furthermore, senior-level executives donate time/talents to boards and committees of charitable, business and professional organizations. In 2017, board involvement spanned over 200 different not-for-profit organizations. Combined, the Withum Week of Caring and board activity accounted for 3,300 volunteer hours. Co-workers helping co-workers, through the Staff Hardship Relief Fund, resulted in 520 team-member contributions that were matched by the firm, bringing the current total value of the fund to $420,000 in 2017. As a result, Withum assisted three team members with medical bills and donated $10,000 to the United Way of Houston for hurricane relief.
Zimmel Associates Supports Emmanuel Cancer Foundation Fundraising Campaign David Zimmel, CEO, Zimmel Associates, is a Trustee and member of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF) Board. ECF provides NJ families faced with the crisis of pediatric cancer a place to turn for comfort and support through professional in-home counseling and assistance. David has served as the Golf Chairman for the foundation and conducted its annual golf outing for the past three years. In 2017 the ECF golf outing, titled, Making a Difference for Kids With Cancer, raised $75,000. “We had a beautiful, amazing day with 96 golfers on the course in 2017. I thank the many clients, colleagues and friends who participated because it is such a worthy cause,” said Zimmel. David is serving as Golf Chairman again in 2018 and looks forward to beating last year’s numbers.
