Women in Business: Sue Boyle

What is your current position?

I am the contracted Executive Director of the NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professionals Association (LSRPA). The LSRPA is a non-profit professional membership organization established to provide information, education and technical resources to LSRPs, other professionals involved in environmental remediation in the NJ and students pursuing an education in a discipline related to environmental remediation. We are the professionals that have cleaned up over 12,000 properties in NJ, allowing them to get back on the tax roles as safe locations for redevelopment of all types. Why did you choose the field/profession you are in today?

I transitioned from a career in state government to a consulting career with GEI Consultants, Inc. I was involved in several brownfield cleanup and redevelopment projects and other brownfield activities with GEI professionals in NJ and CT. They knew my background and expertise and welcomed me to join them and pursue some “untraditional” clients for an engineering and science firm. Representing three non-profit brownfield and site cleanup professional association clients is work that I thrive on and GEI has been great about embracing that activity.
