ROCKAWAY TWP., NJ — Bennett Realty & Development and their partner Eden Property Company have recently purchased a 1.5-acre parcel of land from JC Penney. The parcel, currently a portion of JC Penney’s parking lot at Rockaway Townsquare Mall has direct access to the ring road in front of the mall’s busiest entrance. The property is being leased to Miller’s Ale House who will be building a 7,000 s/f full service restaurant on the property. The new restaurant will bring another great dining option to the Rockaway area. Miller’s Ale House in tentatively scheduled to open in the Spring of 2019. The transaction illustrates the changing retail environmental where many of the anchor tenants are trying to dispose of untapped real estate for uses that help drive traffic.
