Washington TWP., NJ — Atkins Companies, and its joint venture partner Woodmont Properties, announce that Axia Women’s Health has signed a lease expansion for 3,000 s/f of space at Washington Square Town Center located at 247 Hurffville-Cross Keys Rd. in Washington Twp. Negotiated less than a year after the health network signed a lease for 7,000 s/f, the latest transaction will have Axia occupying the entire 10,000 s/f building.

Nearing completion, Washington Square Town Center is a 35-acre mixed-use community with 330 apartments, 100 townhomes, an assisted living facility, and a 40,000 s/f fully leased, Class A medical office building. Initial plans for the property also envisioned the construction of 30,000 s/f of ground-level retail spread across three 10,000 s/f buildings. However, following the successful lease-up of the site’s 40,000 s/f Rothman Medical Building and continued unmet demand for medical office space in the local market, Atkins and Woodmont adapted their plans to reorient the entire third retail building to healthcare usage.

Shortly after the building was repositioned to fit the needs of healthcare tenants, in July 2020 Atkins pre-leased 7,000 s/f to Axia Women’s Health, a fast-growing network of OB/GYN physicians, breast health centers, high-risk pregnancy centers, laboratories, urogynecology, and fertility centers with locations across the Northeast. As the construction of the new building progressed, Axia recognized that potential existed to further expand their services and delivery of care through a larger presence in the community. Capitalizing on the property’s accessibility and adaptability, Axia decided to lease the remaining 3,000 s/f in the 10,000 s/f medical building to create a regional hub for its wide range of women's health services and provide an unmatched level of care to Southern NJ. Axia is scheduled to open its doors early this Summer.

Axia’s significant presence in the community further bolsters the impressive list of regional healthcare tenants who already call the community home. Completed in 2018, the community’s state-of-the-art Rothman Medical Building is currently home to Rothman Orthopaedics, The Heart House cardiology group, Jefferson Health Outpatient Imaging, and Advocare OB/GYN. In early March, Atkins also negotiated a 5,400 s/f lease with Mid Atlantic Retina in one of the community’s retail buildings.
