Cliffwood, NJ — The long-awaited addition to Monmouth County’s wellness scene is now a reality. On October 1, LA Fitness opened its Signature Club at Aberdeen Plaza, located at Rte. 35 and Cliffwood Ave. in Cliffwood, announced Woodmere, NY-based shopping center owner/manager Basser Kaufman.
The club occupies the former site of an A&P Supermarket. The upscale Signature Club format offers higher-level equipment, classes and personal training, as well as resort-style amenities including a full-size basketball court, indoor pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool spa, towel service and toiletries. “This gorgeous new club will attract the attention of fitness and health-conscious consumers and attract them on a daily basis to our Plaza,” said Robert Goldfeder, director of leasing for Basser Kaufman. “The fanfare at the ribbon-cutting showed how excited the community is with this new addition.”
The facility is complying with all New Jersey COVID-19 regulations. Check-in is contactless, and equipment has been spaced to accommodate social distancing. Classes including indoor cycling, Zumba and yoga are available by reservation on LA Fitness’ mobile app. A Kids Klub, which offers baby-sitting services for an additional fee, is not available at this time, but will debut when permitted by local regulation.
LA Fitness Signature Club signed a 15-year lease at Aberdeen Plaza and joins Jersey Mike’s, Domino’s, and H&R Block. Now in the midst of a total reinvention, the open-air neighborhood center boasts a newly resurfaced parking lot with ample parking and a modern, sleek new façade along with other beautifications.
