What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
I believe my greatest professional accomplishment so far was earning Marcus & Millichap’s Rookie of the Year award in 2021. The award was a team effort and would not have been possible without my supportive managers and staff, trusting clients and my partner, Bryn Merrey.
The award was symbolic of the relentless hard work put forth by a large group of people.
How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry?
There is so much value sharing at Marcus & Millichap. You can approach any senior agent or manager with a question and they will stop what they’re doing to provide insight. I learned very quickly that the culture at the firm is about succeeding together. I try my best to help newer agents, whether it’s speaking at their training meetings or being available to answer specific industrial-related questions. Additionally, I am a member of the Urban Land Institute's Young Leaders Group.
Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career?
By far my partner and mentor, Bryn Merrey. With 20 years of experience in the industry, he is a true expert who I am very lucky to work alongside. Being able to tap into his knowledge and observe his approach to the business is a true advantage. He has contributed so much to my growth and ability. I have worked under Bryn since the day I joined the firm and we are now building a team that we hope to scale across the Mid-Atlantic.
Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current position and why you chose the field/profession you are in today?
I began my career in brokerage as an intern at the Porosoff Group in Miami, Fla. while attending the University of Miami. Marcus & Millichap gave me an opportunity following my graduation in Spring of 2020, which was a very uncertain time in the market. Given that I had the chance to work with Bryn, I jumped at the offer.
We specialize in industrial and flex investment sales in the Mid-Atlantic region with a current focus on Maryland. Through proactive advisory services, we assist our clients in advancing and achieving their real estate goals. Our position in the industrial sector also gives us exposure to business owners whom we advise to ensure their real estate is functioning in the best way possible for their business. With the Marcus & Millichap brand behind us, we maximize value for our clients by being experts in our markets and energetic problem solvers. Our goal is to smoothly navigate each transaction from start to finish and deliver the best result to the client.
I decided to pursue brokerage because of my entrepreneurial background and the vast amount of opportunity the real estate industry holds. Learning the industry from the brokerage side is grueling, but it prepares you to handle challenging and complex deals that, over time, create expertise and a valuable, tested skill set.
