Bakery café to occupy ground-floor retail space at Valen, 355-apartment multifamily tower

Washington, DC — JBG SMITH, an owner and developer of high-quality, mixed-use properties in the Washington, DC market, announced that French-inspired bakery, Paris Baguette, has leased 3,384 s/f of ground-floor retail space at Valen, JBG SMITH’s 355-unit residential tower in National Landing.

This new gathering place will offer everything from fresh-baked pastries and great coffee to savory sandwiches, salads, and made-to-order cakes – bringing an all-day, full-service experience to the neighborhood.”

Paris Baguette’s new National Landing café, locally owned and operated by Sam Sadeghi, will offer a thoughtfully crafted menu of bakery favorites, beverages, smoothies, and catering options. Designed as a welcoming destination, the space will feature indoor seating for more than 50 guests, an outdoor patio, and a viewing station that allows customers to experience the artistry behind cakes and creations made onsite. This location is expected to open in the third quarter of 2026, and marks Sadeghi’s second café in Virginia with one already in operation at Seminary Plaza in Alexandria. Hours of operation at Paris Baguette’s National Landing café will be 6am-10pm.

Located at 2050 South Bell St. in Arlington, VA, Valen’s multifamily tower includes 355 rental apartments ranging from studio to three-bedroom layouts. The 25-story sleek glass tower boasts an impressive collection of amenities, including a stunning rooftop pool and lounge with unobstructed views, a state-of-the-art fitness center, 24-hour concierge service, spacious co-working facilities, community gathering spaces, and a premium pet spa with grooming station. In-garage bike parking and electric vehicle charging stations are also available to residents.

Paris Baguette joins a burgeoning list of retailers at JBG SMITH’s National Landing multifamily properties including, Bar Chinois, Tiki Thai, Toastique, NailSaloon, Colada Shop, Flight Wine Shop, PLNTR, Van Leeuwen, Bar Colline, DryBar, GoodVets, Tatte Bakery and Twins Ace Hardware.
