Multifamily project highlights the firm’s continued growth in New Jersey

RAHWAY, NJ — Construction is underway at Russo Development’s Vermella Rahway, a new 211-unit multifamily community that continues the company’s commitment to thoughtful, high-quality redevelopment in New Jersey’s most vibrant downtowns.
Located in the heart of Rahway’s well-known redevelopment corridor, Vermella Rahway will introduce a new chapter of urban living that emphasizes connection, design, and convenience. Adjacent to the historic Rahway Train Station, the project is designed to maximize the utility of the existing pedestrian bridge that directly links residents to NJ TRANSIT service and downtown amenities, further enhancing the city’s walkability and access to regional employment centers.
“Rahway has been a model of smart, sustained redevelopment for more than a decade,” said Chris Erb, executive vice president of Russo Development. “Vermella Rahway builds on that momentum with a community that connects directly to the city’s transportation hub while complementing its existing neighborhoods and downtown character.”
The project represents a collaborative redevelopment effort with the city’s Redevelopment Agency, with Russo assembling the site from multiple parcels and working closely with local business owners. Footings and foundations scheduled for completion early this year, and initial occupancy expected by the spring of 2027.
“As with every Russo Development project, Vermella Rahway reflects a strong architectural identity rooted in its surroundings,” said Diogo Santos, senior VP of Development for Russo Development. “The design incorporates subtle references to historic train station architecture, blending transportation-inspired elements along the rail-facing elevations with a more civic, downtown-square character on the opposite façade.”
Russo Development is well underway with construction on a new three-story, 45,000 s/f corporate headquarters on From Road in Paramus, NJ, just north of the Paramus Park Mall, expected to be completed in Fall 2026.
The new Headquarters building anchors the company’s brand at one of northern New Jersey’s most visible corporate addresses, adjacent to the Garden State Parkway and directly accessible to Route 17. Representing a major investment in employee experience, the building marks a symbolic and physical shift toward a new era of corporate identity and community presence with a focus on quality, innovation, and reinvestment.
Designs for the Russo headquarters building reflect Russo’s continued growth and its forward-looking approach to workplace design — balancing spaces for collaboration, creativity, wellness, independent work and comfort within an environment that celebrates the company’s culture and long-term commitment to its people.
