MERRIFIELD, VA - Savills announces that it has successfully facilitated two leases totaling nearly 10,000 square feet at 2600 Park Tower Drive in Merrifield, VA, on behalf of Rheinmetall’s U.S. subsidiaries. The move places American Rheinmetall Defense, the U.S. corporate hub, and American Rheinmetall Munitions at the heart of the U.S. defense ecosystem, aligning them more closely with the Department of Defense and key government stakeholders. American Rheinmetall Defense has signed a 3,486-square-foot lease, while one of its specialized operating companies, American Rheinmetall Munitions, will occupy 6,000 square feet on a separate floor. The long-term leases in the COPT Defense Properties-owned Metro Place II tower reflect Rheinmetall’s rapid U.S. growth and ongoing investment in expanding its domestic industrial footprint, engineering capabilities, and American workforce.
Savills Executive Managing Director Ken Biberaj and Managing Director Nick DiChiara represented the tenant, while Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, COPT Defense Properties.
“It was a privilege to partner with a leading company that continues to accelerate innovation and investment in the U.S. defense industrial base,” said DiChiara. “This relocation gives Rheinmetall room to grow, enables them to showcase their brand through high-visibility signage, and strengthens their ability to collaborate with policymakers, acquisition leaders, and military clients in a mission-focused environment.”
Rheinmetall is a driving force in next-generation combat vehicles, advanced armaments, mission-critical innovative technologies, and air and ground-based defense systems. American Rheinmetall Defense supports Rheinmetall’s family of U.S. companies that includes American Rheinmetall in Biddeford, ME, Lansing, MI, Lapeer, MI, Plymouth, MI, Sterling Heights, MI (HQ), St. Marys, OH, and Troy, MI, and American Rheinmetall Munitions in Camden, AR, Vienna, VA (HQ), Windham, ME. American Rheinmetall Munitions specializes in large- and medium-caliber ammunition, propellants, fuzing, and protection systems for vehicle survivability. This new location enables both entities to improve their engagement with and responsiveness to key stakeholders and customers, particularly with proximity to the Pentagon and Capitol Hill. American Rheinmetall entities are actively involved in a wide array of military modernization programs, including long-range precision fires, next-generation combat vehicles, warfighter lethality enhancement, and counter-UAS systems.
“The opening of our new DC region office spaces underscores our rapid growth and committed investment in Rheinmetall’s U.S. operations,” said Stephen Hedger, CEO, American Rheinmetall Defense. “This move reinforces our brand presence, brings us even closer to key government stakeholders, improves our access to a wonderful human resource talent pool in the region, and strengthens our ability to support U.S. defense strategy with speed, innovation, and an enduring commitment to being part of the fabric of the U.S. defense industrial base.”
2600 Park Tower Drive, also known as Metro Place II, is a nearly 250,000-square-foot Class-A office building constructed in 1999 and owned by COPT Defense Properties.
