Union Investment-owned property represented in the US by Metzler Realty Advisors

WASHINGTON, DC — Savills has signed a new lease for 20,116 s/f at 600 13th Street NW, a property owned by Union Investment. Union Investment is advised in the US by Metzler Realty Advisors.

Savills will relocate its Washington, DC office to the 8th floor of the amenity-rich building across from Metro Center. The move marks a significant step in the firm’s evolution, showcasing a workspace that reflects the latest trends, best practices, and lessons learned from decades of advising tenants across all sectors.

“Having advised some of the most forward-thinking organizations on their real estate strategies, we saw this as an opportunity to bring those insights home,” said Jon Glass, executive vice president and co-lead of Savills DC Region. “We approached our own site selection and office design process the way we do for our clients—with intention, data, and collaboration at the forefront. The result is a workplace prioritizing flexibility, community, hospitality and connection.”

Set for completion in September, the new space is designed to foster cross-team collaboration, enhance client engagement, and serve as a welcoming venue for hosting events with industry partners and the broader community. Key features include a town hall-style meeting room, flexible conference areas, and open collaborative spaces that support both in-person and hybrid work.

“This move reinforces our commitment to delivering elevated workplace experiences—not just for our team, but for our clients and partners,” said Glass. “It reflects our core belief that great real estate decisions support how people work, connect, and grow.”

Savills will also benefit from many building amenities, including a tenant-exclusive lounge, fitness center with showers and yoga studio, game room, and rooftop terrace with sweeping views of downtown DC. The building’s on-site retail offerings—such as Bluestone Lane Coffee, and Mastro’s Steakhouse—add further convenience and hospitality.

Union Investment and Metzler were represented by CBRE’s Phillip Thomas, Joe Coleman, Lara Nealon, and Brittany Gosnell.
