Philadelphia, PA — The Philadelphia Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors has provided a $5,000 donation to Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger relief organization.
Philabundance distributes more than 24 million pounds of food a year to those in need. In 2020, Philabundance has seen a spike in need from members of the community and expects to distribute 50 million pounds of food for the year.
“Throughout our region, we’ve seen so many organizations trying to assist those who face hardships during the pandemic. We’re happy to team up with Philabundance this holiday season to help make a difference for those experiencing food insecurities,” said Joel Kreider, president, SIOR Philadelphia Chapter.
“For food banks across the country, this pandemic is a marathon, not a sprint,” said Loree Jones, CEO, Philabundance. “We are seeing up to a 60 percent increase in need and foresee folks needing our help well into the New Year and beyond. Donations like this allow us to provide food, PPE equipment and other essential items to communities throughout the nine counties we serve. We are so thankful.” The SIOR Philadelphia Chapter includes 83 members who bear the highest standards of professionalism and competence located throughout central to eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware.
