Red Bank, NJ — Denholtz announced that Chairman Steven Denholtz was awarded the 2026 Leadership Excellence Award from Monmouth University’s Kislak Real Estate Institute. He was recognized at the Institute’s 30th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards Dinner held on May 28 at the Great Hall at Monmouth University.

Presented annually, the Leadership Excellence Award honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on the commercial real estate industry over the course of their careers, reflecting exceptional leadership, professional achievement, and a steadfast commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders.

Steven Denholtz has been one of the most influential figures in New Jersey’s commercial real estate industry over the past four decades. He assumed the role of CEO at Denholtz in 1983 and has since led the firm’s continued evolution, diversification, and growth. Under Denholtz’s leadership, the firm has expanded from its New Jersey roots into high-growth markets across the United States and built a portfolio valued at more than $2B, with properties spanning the industrial, multifamily, office, and mixed-use asset classes.

Beyond his day-to-day work at the firm, Denholtz has always been committed to, and actively involved in, the community. He is a Board Member of the Monmouth Conservation Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving open space, farmland, and natural habitats throughout Monmouth County, and has lent his expertise to organizations including the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, and the Count Basie Center for the Arts. Denholtz also served as an adjunct professor for the Kislak Real Estate Institute.

“This recognition from the Kislak Institute is among the highest honors of my career, and I am thankful for the many team members and partners whose work has contributed to this achievement,” said Denholtz. “The Kislak Institute has played a vital role in shaping the future of the commercial real estate industry since its inception, and it’s truly been a privilege to support their mission.”
