The Student Union fit-out has collaborative learning, small group areas, private study spaces, conference rooms, meeting spaces, an Aquaponics Lab, a Wellness Center and a self-service Bistro. A mezzanine created a glass-enclosed classroom and additional collaborative space. A custom designed amphitheater, outfitted with a multi-media and a 3 x 3 seamless video wall display, serves as a multi-purpose venue for lectures, presentations, a distance learning laboratory and student/community event space.
Why was this particular job your favorite/most unusual? This state-of-the-art facility integrates student life with academics, building a greater sense of community. The university already had a presence in the Whitaker Arts and Science Center, as Murrays transformed the basement into an esports training center for Harrisburg University’s nationally recognized team, The Storm. It made sense to create another unique, vibrant and fun place for the entire student body to utilize.
