The Best Interior Architecture of 2020

DMR Architects, Eight Provident Bank Branches, New Jersey

Type of project: Corporate-retail interior

Location: Edison, Perth Amboy, South Amboy, East Brunswick, Milltown, Leonia, Brick, Freehold, NJ

Size: Branches ranged in size from 1,500 to 5,500 s/f

Previously, DMR Architects began working with The Provident Bank on a new interior design prototype that would better reflect its modern brand identity. The new plans used the blues and bright orange from the bank’s logo as accent colors, feature walls and teller pods, a more open and engaging area for tellers and customers to interact, more space dedicated to a welcoming area for customers, a technology bar, and self-serve coffee bar. In 2020, DMR implemented the prototype to eight branches throughout New Jersey.

Why was this particular job your favorite/most unusual?

DMR designed the new The Provident Bank interior design prototype to better embrace the institution’s more modern brand identity as an inviting and technologically-forward place to do business with trusted advisors. In 2019, we began implementing the prototype across New Jersey and in 2020, we realized our vision in eight additional locations. As DMR executed a previous prototype in 30+ branches beginning in 2010, we are also proud to have worked closely through many cycles of evolution with The Provident Bank.
