The Durst Organization selected as development partner by DRWC to transform Penn’s Landing

Philadelphia, PA — The Durst Organization has been selected as the Delaware River Waterfront Commission (DRWC) development partner for a project that will transform Penn’s Landing by providing Philadelphians with exciting new ways to access the Delaware River and by bringing new residents and jobs to the waterfront.

The DRWC, a city-created non-profit charged with stewarding development and community access along the riverfront, selected The Durst Organization to develop two key parcels after an extensive bidding process beginning last October. The planned development, which brings together a team of internationally recognized architects, is the culmination of decades of work to transform the Delaware River waterfront into an exciting urban attraction and complimenting the planned Penn’s Landing Park capping a portion of Interstate 95 in Center City. “We are honored DRWC has selected us for this transformative project that will provide Philadelphians' extraordinary access to the waterfront," said Jonathan (Jody) Durst, president of The Durst Organization. "We look forward to working with community members, elected officials and stakeholders to finalize a design that fulfills the vision of the Master Plan for the Central Delaware, creates economic opportunity and jobs for all Philadelphians, particularly disadvantaged businesses and people of color, and makes an inviting mixed-use development with retail and recreational amenities that activates the Delaware River waterfront."
