Hoboken, NJ -- The Taurasi Group announced that Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings, the acclaimed dim sum–style eatery known for its handmade recipes and welcoming atmosphere, has signed a lease to open a 3,700-square-foot restaurant at Southend Hoboken. Located at 38 Jackson Street, the mixed-use destination includes Southend Lofts, a new collection of 110 one- to five-bedroom condominium homes that just launched sales, along with 100,000 square feet of commercial and retail space.
The new restaurant, which will offer seating for approximately 80 guests and feature a liquor license, will bring Nana’s signature blend of warmth, flavor, and tradition to Hoboken’s emerging south end neighborhood. At Nana’s, dumplings, noodles, dim sum, and other small plates are handmade, with an emphasis on freshness and craftsmanship — a hallmark of their restaurants where guests often see dumplings folded and baskets of dim sum steamed right before their eyes.
The menu features classic dim sum favorites like shrimp and pork dumplings, siu mai, and black bean spareribs, along with Cantonese-inspired dishes, noodles, buns, fried rice, soups, and heartier entrees. Expected to open by next summer, Nana’s will serve as a new destination for shared, flavorful dining for both Southend Lofts residents and the wider Hoboken community.
Founded just two years ago in Colorado, Nana’s has quickly built a devoted following with locations in Boulder, Denver’s LoHi neighborhood, and Aurora, followed by its most recent expansion in Scarsdale, NY. The Hoboken restaurant marks another milestone for the growing brand, which now operates seven locations with four more in development, including a Manhattan location.
“Our scouting team spent more than a year researching new markets, and we knew right away that the south end of Hoboken was the right fit for Nana’s,” said Nick Yang, Director, East Nana Holding. “This will be our first location in a mixed-use building, and we’re excited about the opportunity to serve as an extended amenity for homeowners of Southend Lofts while welcoming the entire community. Every Nana’s location reflects the same care and consistency in flavor, design, and service, but we also take pride in making each one feel special to its neighborhood. We look forward to bringing that spirit to Hoboken.”
At Southend Hoboken, Nana’s joins a growing lineup of retailers and restaurants that will anchor and energize the development, including a 25,100-square-foot full-service fitness facility, a 12,500-square-foot supermarket, and Under Pressure Espresso Bar, a 2,223-square-foot craft coffee concept and Greek Kitchen. An additional 24,285-square-foot anchor tenant is expected to be announced soon, bringing the project’s retail space to 72% pre-leased, with leasing led by Charter Realty’s Scott Edlitz.
“Nana’s is exactly the kind of tenant we envisioned for Southend Hoboken — a vibrant, high-quality restaurant that complements the residential, retail, and lifestyle elements we’re creating,” said Gary Mezzatesta, Managing Partner of The Taurasi Group. “Their emphasis on authenticity, warmth, and community connection aligns perfectly with our vision for Southend Hoboken as a place where homeowners and visitors come together.”
