Historic firehouse brewery to reopen under original name with original recipes

Cherry Hill, NJ — Vantage Commercial announced the successful sale of Brotherton Brewery, located at 2208 Atco Avenue, Atco, NJ — a landmark property housed in a fully renovated historic firehouse. The firm represented both the buyer and the seller in this transaction, which was negotiated and executed by Ken Richardson, vice president and partner, and Emily Stein, managing director.
The transaction, which originated in 2025, presented unique challenges beyond a traditional real estate sale. The deal involved working through the complexities of transferring the brewery license and negotiating the terms of a full equipment purchase — ultimately resulting in a comprehensive asset sale that encompassed both the property and all operational brewery assets.
The new owner has expressed enthusiasm for restoring the beloved local establishment, with plans to reopen Brotherton Brewery under its original name and resurrect the brewery’s signature recipes.
“We were contracted to sell the building only, and we successfully executed a full asset sale for the owners. Both parties feel confident in reestablishing Brotherton Brewery,” said Richardson.
Brotherton Brewery is situated within a fully renovated former firehouse, lending the property a distinctive character that has made it a recognized fixture in the Atco community. The Vantage Commercial team’s ability to navigate the intricacies of a brewery license transfer while simultaneously structuring the equipment sale underscores the firm’s expertise in handling complex commercial transactions.
