HAINESPORT, NJ — Walters, an award-winning developer based in Barnegat, has opened the affordable housing lottery for Cornerstone at Hainesport, a 72-unit premium income-restricted apartment community located along Creek Rd. in the Burlington County township of Hainesport. Occupancy for the first building is slated for January 2026. Applications to enter the housing lottery will be accepted through Thursday, October 16. The drawing will take place on Wednesday, October 29.

“We’re proud to be investing in the Hainesport community, and creating a brighter future for residents,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of Affordable Housing for Walters. “Families will have access to high-quality, affordable homes in a prime location, surrounded by the resources and conveniences they need to thrive.”

Located near the Mount Laurel border, the community will span six buildings with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with individual entrances. Parking will be available for residents. All homes will be income-restricted for families earning 60 percent or less of the area’s median income. According to the rent and income requirements chart, rates are based on the renter’s gross annual income.

Designed by Donovan Architects, Cornerstone at Hainesport is being constructed to achieve LEED requirements and ENERGY STAR certification.

Apartments will feature open floor plans, upgraded interior finishes, and signature detailing that has won Walters many awards over the years. Residents will enjoy a long list of amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, children’s tot lot, basketball court, and community clubhouse with computer workstations. Units are equipped with in-unit washers/dryers. A staffed social service coordinator will be available upon request.

Located in the Delaware Valley region, historic Hainesport is conveniently located near major highways and well-served by public transportation, providing easy access to nearby cities such as Philadelphia and Trenton.
