ROSELLE, NJ — Assemblyman Jamel Holley, Mayor Christine Dansereau and other local leaders were on hand for the groundbreaking of The Park, a 932-unit market-rate, luxury apartment community, on the former site of the Roselle Golf Club. Assemblyman Holley and Mayor Dansereau together recognized the opportunity to repurpose the golf course, and helped guide the municipality through a thorough six-year planning process, which included significant input from the surrounding community and many professionals “The Park will transform an underutilized private golf course into an amazing new apartment community and a wonderful 20-acre park,” said Mayor Dansereau. “This will be a great place to live, and enable current residents looking for new, construction and luxury living to stay in Roselle, and will introduce Roselle to new residents who are looking to improve their quality of life, while still being close to all the transit, shopping and entertainment options the area already has to offer.” “The Park replaces what had been destination for our community’s previous generations with a point of pride for future generations,” said Assemblyman Holley. “This new use will bring economic and cultural vitality by creating new jobs, generating new financial opportunities for the Borough, inviting in new neighbors and keeping existing ones.” The first phase of construction is comprised of 190 apartments as well as an unparalleled set of amenities that includes a 20-acre park, a 9,000 s/f clubhouse with a professional state of the art gym, pet spa, movie theater, billiards room, resort-style pool and outdoor entertainment area, dog park, bocce court and a three-mile fitness trail. “The Park is a unique new apartment community which offers a much better quality of life for residents than anything else in the area. Residents with an active lifestyle will enjoy our 60-acre site, which includes a 20 acre park, three miles of fitness trails, resort style swimming pool with lap lanes, professional-grade gym with all the latest equipment and a yoga studio,” said the developer, David Lloyds. “Pet lovers will appreciate our state of the art pet spa, large secure dog run, and of course the adjacent park. Up to two pets per unit are welcome, and dogs and their owners can enjoy the on-site dog spa, dog run and the nearby park with a three-mile walking trail. Construction on the first phase is scheduled to begin in January 2016, and the developer anticipates the leasing office will opening in spring 2017. The community will be built in five phases over the next eight years.
