Our vision has persevered in its simplicity: the creation of a full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm intent to engage in business with individuals and companies that we ‘know, like, and trust’. Seeing our clients in this manner is not the only objective; it is imperative that our clients feel the same about us.
We started simply (circa 1994) in Broomall, and then moved to Haverford a few years later. There was no high speed Internet but lots of faxing, and we were a much different company than who we are today. Years advanced and the business grew. Our efforts, tenants, and properties were decidedly slanted towards retail. New agents became residents amongst offices lining the suddenly robust hallways of a modest Main Line professional building. A spirit of teamwork conceptualized, and an ethos of diligence involuntarily embraced. This was the home of Equity. In a way, it still is. As our business, clients, and staff grew, a new name to represent the aligned interest of the firm was needed, and a new location to properly suit its team’s logistics, required. In 2005, Equity Retail Brokers was branded and incorporated. 101 W. Elm Street, a Brandywine Realty Trust owned, Class-A office building in Conshohocken, PA, appeared to be the perfect fit for a new ‘home’. It proved to be more. The carpet was new and the windows bigger, but the vision, now a reality, remained the same.
The location of headquarters had changed, yet the roster of clients remained strong. Within the divisions of Retail Leasing, Investment Sales, Tenant Representation, and Property Management the number and quality of the accounts increased. Territory covered also expanded from a Philadelphia Metro reach to include the whole of Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. Regional focus gained a national presence with membership in the Retail Brokers Network, the “RBN”. Currently, over 65 independent commercial retail real estate offices in 48 states provide their local expertise to retailers, owners, developers, and investors – of both domestic and international origin. The year is 2016. Business is happily still growing. Fittingly, Equity Properties - now Equity Retail Brokers - is proud to announce our equity in a property! As of July, our new home is located at: 531 W. Germantown Pike, Suite 103, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.So often in today’s world, business people, athletes, companies forget where they came from and how they got there. They forget it is not about them, but about the people around them. They exist for and because of the people around them. They forget the people who were integral to their growth, evolution, and success. They forget to use the ever-so-simple words, “Thank you.” Thank you to everyone we have worked with, or for, and thank you to every agent and employee who has walked through our doors. Every moment, every relationship, every hardship, every deal and difficult circumstance has contributed to our standing in the world today. Our firm, and most importantly the people in it, extend our sincere gratitude to all our clients, past and present, and look forward to all the new relationships in the future. Hard work never should be ignored, but our success is founded in the quality of our employees, clients, and our relationships with everyone. We have great pride in our new space. It is indeed an office, but we designed it to be a more of a business home. We tried to create a physical space where people wanted to come and work, where they felt comfortable, enjoyed their jobs, and happily lost track of the clock.
