Dermody Properties developing 152,200 s/f facility for international produce leader

Logan, NJ — Dermody Properties, a national industrial real estate owner-operator headquartered in Reno, Nev., has been selected by Greenyard to develop a 152,200 s/f, build-to-suit facility in southern New Jersey. The state-of-the-art packing and cold storage facility will be located in LogistiCenterSM at Logan, a 5.5 million s/f industrial park in Logan Township owned by Dermody Properties and Great Point Investors LLC. The new facility marks the first expansion of the Fresh division of Greenyard in the United States. Greenyard is a global market leader of fresh and prepared fruits, vegetables, flowers, plants and growing media.

Currently operating as UNIVEG Logistics America, the company’s name will change to Greenyard Logistics USA Inc. upon completion of the new facility.

The facility will serve as a packing and cold storage facility, quadrupling the company’s current capacity and substantially increasing job opportunities. Seald Sweet, which belongs to the Fresh division of Greenyard and is a sister company of Greenyard Logistics USA, will also relocate its current northeast import production operations and sales offices to the new facility.

“We are excited to help this internationally renowned family of companies expand its U.S. operations with this new facility,” said Gene Preston, partner, Dermody Properties East Region Office. “We believe LogistiCenterSM at Logan is an ideal location to expand the company’s northeast operations and look forward to developing an exceptional facility for them.”

“Expansion in our northeast operations and the U.S. market is our driving objective and part of our strategic plan,” said Mayda Sotomayor-Kirk, president of Greenyard Logistics USA. “Being part of UNIVEG, the Fresh division of Greenyard has propelled our continued growth. We outgrew our current facility some time ago and designed the new facility with the ability for future expansion going forward.” LogistiCenterSM at Logan is a 1,100-acre industrial park with 7 available lots ranging from 50,000 s/f to over 1,000,000 s/f. Upon total build-out, the park will accommodate more than 5.5 million s/f of industrial, distribution and light manufacturing facilities. Currently, LogistiCenterSM at Logan is home to several existing buildings occupied by a diverse group of tenants, including Albert’s Organics, hhgregg, Kimberly Clark Corporation, Mission Produce, Performance Food Group, Penske, Sears and Veroni. Great Point Investors LLC is Dermody Properties’ strategic capital partner on developments within LogistiCenterSM at Logan.
