New Day to Explore Environmental Insurance Trends at 2018 IRMI Energy Risk & Insurance conf.

HAMILTON, NJ — John Heft, senior vice president and director of the real estate practice at New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, will address Current Trends in the Environmental Marketplace at the 2018 IRMI Energy Risk & Insurance Conference (ERIC) to be held at the Royal Sonesta Houston in Texas. During the session scheduled for March 6, Heft will be joined by Kenneth Cornell, managing principal at Enviant. Together, they will explore the environmental, facility- and contractor-specific exposures currently plaguing the energy industry. “There are numerous contamination pathways driving the need for insurance coverage within the energy sector,” explains Heft. “Even simple spills and mishaps can lead to years of litigation and costly cleanups. In addition, the limited pollution coverage provided in some General Liability and Control of Well Policies may not be enough to mitigate these exposures. This session will discuss current environmental risk management trends, while highlighting motivational factors and the overall impact of claims on the bottom line and the organization’s credibility. “ERIC is the perfect venue for helping insurance professionals and risk managers understand the multitude of emerging liabilities and the coverage forms available to protect against issues and overcome delays,” adds Heft. John Heft brings to New Day Underwriting Managers over 27 years of environmental underwriting experience, including a solid base of real estate-focused work experience for a major brokerage firm, an insurance carrier and an environmental consultant.
