JERSEY CITY, NJ — BLDG Management has announced a proposed multifamily rental property at 100 Bay St. in Jersey City, NJ. The property will offer 1,300 new rental units, 20 percent of which will be affordable, helping to meet growing housing demand in the market.

100 Bay St. will be a single residential building featuring two towers on a podium base and connected by a 40th floor sky bridge. The sculptural design incorporates the artistic legacy of the Arts District, while also providing additional world-class architecture to Jersey City’s skyline. The proposed building’s iconic design implements previously approved elements required by Jersey City for this site pursuant to a development agreement with the property owner, which was approved in a federal court consent order.

Designed by architects Pelli Clarke & Partners, the project will include a variety of unit types, from smaller units for single individuals to larger units for families. It will also contain abundant recreational space for tenants and the community and 29,000 s/f of indoor and outdoor retail space at the ground level.

The 1.6 million s/f development will include abundant parking for both residential and retail use. The layout is specifically designed to manage traffic burden and will include a significant porte cochere/covered drive-up entrance within the property footprint, bringing traffic off the street. 100 Bay also offers a below-grade loading dock.

The project, which will generate significant property tax income for Jersey City, is expected to create up to hundreds of construction, building operations and retail jobs.
