Kinsley delivers first of three reno. projects for York County Libraries

York, PA — After 42 years of operating out of a double-wide FEMA trailer, Kreutz Creek Library is getting a new home. Kinsley Construction, Inc. joined the York County Libraries for a virtual groundbreaking ceremony on March 16 to celebrate the start of their renovation project to relocate the library to an 8,800-square-foot building next to their current space.

Currently serving 43,000 visitors annually, the library expects to double this number once it moves to its new location this summer. Designed by Warehaus, the former Hellam Township building will be renovated to provide:

• Open service and browsing areas

• Community meeting spaces and seating

• Computer stations

• Dedicated children and teen program space

• Mechanical upgrades that include increased germ filtration

• Exterior improvements to increase daylighting

Kreutz Creek Library opened in February 1979 after the York County Libraries and Hellam Township partnered to secure land and a double-wide FEMA trailer left over from Hurricane Agnes.
