Landmark announces staff achievement and addition

Newark, DE — The Board of Directors of Landmark Science & Engineering, made two staff announcements: Dakota M. Laidman-Murray, P.E., a firm principal, has added Maryland professional engineer registration to her list of credentials, which includes a Delaware P.E. Melissa C. Spratt has joined the firm, bringing years of engineering-related experience to her new role as accounting & financial support coordinator.
Laidman-Murray, P.E. has added a Maryland professional engineer registration to the Delaware P.E. registration she has held since 2017. Laidman-Murray is a principal of Landmark where she has worked for nine years. She specializes in hydraulics and hydrologic analysis, stormwater management and flood studies and serves as head of the Water Resources department. She earned a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering degree, with a concentration in Water Resources and Water Quality and a minor in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware in 2012. Laidman-Murray serves as chairperson for ACEC Delaware’s Education/Public Relations Committee, which awards engineering scholarships and helps promote engineering as a career choice.
John Gonzalez, P.E., CPSWQ, branch manager of the Aberdeen Office, is “excited to add a new Maryland P.E. licensee to the staff” and believes that “Dakota brings real value in water resources engineering that will be beneficial with our stream and stormwater restorations projects in Maryland.”
Spratt was hired to work in Landmark’s corporate office in Newark as accounting & financial support coordinator. Spratt is a graduate of Cecil College in North East, MD where she earned an A.A.S. accounting-focused degree and is currently working on completing an MBA in Accounting at University of Maryland in College Park. Spratt possesses vast knowledge of accounting and financial principles applicable to the civil engineering sector with a combined 22 years of work experience at Karins and Associates and Duffield Associates. Melissa “loves to learn new things and share her knowledge with others” and says that “helping others” is one of her greatest attributes. She remains a firm believer that “each day you are leading by example” and that “whether you realized it or not, whether it’s positive or negative, you are influencing those around you.”
