WASHINGTON, DC — Stewart Title Guaranty Company announced that Matthew Cochran has joined the team as business development officer for the Washington, DC Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in the Mid-Atlantic Commercial Division. Cochran brings over a decade of experience in business development, real estate, and strategic growth to the team.

In his role, Cochran will identify, cultivate, and expand business relationships within the commercial real estate sector, focusing on introducing new clients to Stewart Title’s trusted title insurance and related services. He will collaborate with commercial real estate brokers, developers, lenders, attorneys, and other industry professionals to strengthen Stewart Title’s market presence across the DC MSA.

“Matthew’s impressive track record in business development, strategic partnerships, and client engagement makes him an excellent addition to our team,” said Morgan C. Gilligan, vice president-manager of Stewart Title’s Mid-Atlantic Commercial Division. “His leadership experience and commitment to delivering innovative solutions will be instrumental in driving our growth in the region.”

Cochran most recently served as director of business development at Alair Homes, where he led the implementation of sales strategies, identified market trends, and built relationships with high-net-worth clients and real estate professionals. Previously, he was director of real estate at RBS Investment Family Office, where he spearheaded portfolio development and investment strategies for real estate assets exceeding $40 million. Cochran also held a long-term leadership role at Coloma River Capital, where he managed mixed-use and residential real estate investments.

Cochran also previously worked as a licensed realtor with Coldwell Banker, where he gained valuable insights into the real estate transaction process and honed his ability to advise clients on investment strategies. This experience equips him with a unique perspective that will benefit Stewart Title’s clients as he helps them navigate complex commercial transactions.

Cochran holds a degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland University College.
