BARNEGAT, NJ — Four high school seniors from the Barnegat Bay area were awarded a total of $8,000 in scholarships by Walters, an award-winning, Barnegat-based developer. Since its inception in 2006, the Walters annual scholarship program has presented an estimated $100,000 in financial support to local students.
This year’s recipients include Madison Frances Pampalone and Lindsey Pampalone from Southern Regional High School, and Anthony Ryan and Alexis Jason from Barnegat High School. Each was awarded a $2,000 scholarship to be applied to any area of study at an accredited institution.
“We are proud to invest in these outstanding students and support them in furthering their education,” said Ed Walters Jr., Walters’ founder and partner, who grew up in southern Ocean County and attended Southern Regional High School. “A commitment to our local communities is part of our mission here at Walters.”
Walters’ philanthropic efforts have supported numerous organizations, including the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, hurricane relief, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company, and Barnegat and Stafford Girls Softball Leagues.
